To achieve that, they needed to ensure that users in every region experience the platform in their local language, with accurate translations, proper date and currency formats, and consistent usability across devices.
Ubertesters was selected to perform a comprehensive localization testing project for the Fiverr website across multiple platforms: macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android. The goal was to validate the accuracy, consistency, and overall quality of the localized user experience worldwide.

Scope of Work

The project involved around 100 testers representing diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Each tester used real devices to simulate authentic user behavior across all major platforms. Testing included both job seekers and job providers, ensuring full coverage of Fiverr's dual-sided marketplace.

The six-month project was divided into about 10 test cycles, each covering a specific locale (a combination of country and language, such as Italy – Italian). This structure allowed Fiverr to implement fixes between cycles and progressively improve localization quality.

Challenges

After launching a redesigned version of its website, Fiverr’s team identified several localization challenges:

  • Inconsistent translations across some pages
  • Formatting differences in date, time, and currency displays
  • Partial localization in certain components
  • Variations in user experience across regions and devices

To address these issues, Fiverr needed a globally distributed testing team that could evaluate the platform in real-world conditions across multiple environments.

Solution

Ubertesters designed a comprehensive crowd testing and real user testing program built for global ecommerce and payment testing, mirroring genuine customer behavior across real-world customer journeys, including post-purchase flows. Rather than simulating transactions, our testers conduct real purchases using actual addresses and payment methods, providing ground-truth insights that no lab environment can replicate. Test cycles run on a rolling basis across active markets, with structured findings delivered to the client team through detailed reports that highlight issues by severity, market, and journey stage, enabling fast prioritization and resolution

Solution

Ubertesters organized and executed multi-cycle testing with native-speaking testers in each locale. Each cycle included detailed test cases to verify:

  • Correct and context-appropriate language across all interfaces
  • Consistency of currency, numbers, and date/time formats
  • Functional accuracy on both desktop and mobile versions
  • Smooth switching between languages and regions

All findings were consolidated into structured summary reports with clear reproduction steps, enabling Fiverr’s development team to quickly address and resolve issues.
