Ran Rachlin: Why iGaming payment solutions struggle across global markets

We're thrilled to share that our CEO and Co-Founder, Ran Rachlin, sat down exclusively with SiGMA News to unpack one of iGaming's most expensive blind spots: the gap between a payment integration that passes lab testing and one that actually survives contact with real players, real banks, and real networks.
The numbers set the stage: Pay-by-bank volume is exploding globally, with Trustly alone crossing $100 billion in 2024. But Ran's message cuts against the industry's assumption that a rail proven in one market travels cleanly to the next. As he puts it, payment integration "is not a one integration, it's dozens of local integrations trying to use the same UI and UX, but a different process in each location." Interac in Canada, Pix and Boleto in Brazil, OXXO Pay in Mexico each look like a checkbox on a PSP's coverage list and behave like a completely different product in practice.
The interview goes deeper into places most operators never think to look: why fraud engines quietly punish legitimate players more often than they catch bad ones, why a five-second lag during live betting can kill a bet outright, and why a badly lit passport photo can undo months of compliance work. Ran also shares the fix that took one operator from a 75% approval rate to over 90%, and it wasn't a platform rebuild.
