You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese? They call it a Royale with cheese.
Do you know who we are talking about? Come on, you should definitely have seen Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. Let us give you a hint. Champagne, Côte d’Azur, stinky cheese… Eiffel Tower.
That’s it. France, the land of passionate epicureans.
Mesdames et Messieurs, welcome Jean-Noël, 38-year-old tester from Montpellier, France.
He started testing 15 years ago while being a C/C++ developer. Focused mainly on development, he was also involved in testing sessions with customers for 5 years. Unit tests, white box/black box testing, TC writing and execution, and performance testing – he knows it inside out.
Jean-Noël worked for Palm Inc./Access System as a Global QA Lead and managed various teams in an international environment. He also had a great experience of working with Japanese, South Korean, Chinese and American testers. And still continues testing today, even if spending most of his time on web and mobile development.
Before joining Ubertesters, three months ago, he was a self-employed software architect.
Aside from his work he is a triathlon fan, preparing for Ironman – the most hardcore triathlon in the world. Tough guy.
Traditionally, we asked Jean-Noël seven questions that we and some of our clients wanted to know.
Have your own questions? Feel free to ask them in comments to this Facebook post!
Jean-Noël: My Ubertester career is quite short, and I’m kind of a rookie! But, until now, I had the chance to work on a very interesting mobile project. The goal was to find charging stations around you for your electric car; the concept was really good, and the application very well designed.
Jean-Noël: I worked on a project with Samsung and Orange, and during a very tough acceptance-testing phase, I found a bug that nobody else found, and I was unable to reproduce it with the same hardware and software. I had no idea what the problem was, but finally, after much investigation (and a lot of time), we found that the problem was due to faulty hardware.
Jean-Noël: I definitely check my emails and check and update my daily to-do list as a result of my profession.
Jean-Noël: Some benefits of working with Ubertesters are the interesting projects, the keen managers, and clearly presented information that is never ambiguous.
Jean-Noël: A bad software tester doesn’t pay close attention to detail and isn’t curious enough. Curiosity is, from my point of view, a great quality for a tester. If you’re not curious, if you’re not going to check and see how things work in the application you’re testing, you’re a bad tester.
Jean-Noël: My ideal workplace is at home in my office: where I can work in a very calm ambience, and where I have many devices readily available.
Jean-Noël: Stay focused on testing; never give up, and work hard.
